HINA MALIK

PPC for FELTHAM & HESTON

BENG in Aeronautics, QTS, DIPM, HND in Aerospace Engineering.

An Entrepreneur! An Educationalist! A Political, Social & Human Rights Activist.

Hina MalikHina Malik is a visionary leader, local community champion and an advocate for a fairer society. A devoted wife and mother of two, she embraces her cultural roots whilst moving with the times.

The first acclaimed Pakistani Female Aeronautical Engineer, Hina has worked for Civil Aviation Authority, Precision Engineering - Pakistan International Airlines, PIA and in Supply Chain - Manager British Airways.

As a passionate educationalist, Hina firmly believes in 'Children are an investment and not an expense' and that by investing in children, our schools, our education system as an utmost priority, we are investing in our future. Through her work as a primary school teacher, she is an advocate for 'Quality Education for ALL', and has been actively involved in developing education policy for the Liberal Democrats. Hina has been an active campaigner for 'Stop School Cuts'. Across England 17,723 schools and across Hounslow 66 schools have suffered Government cuts to per pupil funding since 2015. The impact is greatly felt by local Hounslow schools and as a result they struggle to cope with increased workloads, shortages in resources and in class support & cuts in children services etc.

Such is her passion for female empowerment and challenging the norm, she runs her own social organisation, Voice of Women (VOWS). Currently she is campaigning to align the rights of Islamic women with legal rights in countries where women are underrepresented and culturally disadvantaged. This VOWS project will set landmark trends in motion and will see her working with senior clergy and political figureheads at local and international levels. As well as VOWs, she is an ambassador for Save the Children UK, campaigning for major changes that benefit the less fortunate.

Hina joined the Liberal Democrats because of their internationalist vision and the fact they demand better for all communities and seek to deliver change on issues of importance to her, such as saving our NHS, reducing youth crime, leading climate change, increasing gender diversity and empowering ethnic minorities.

Within the Liberal Democrats, she is active locally and nationally: Currently she is on the executive committee and Vice Chair for the local party in Hounslow and a nominated Diversity Officer for Hounslow.

In February 2016, Hina stood as a candidate in a local council by-election in Cranford, Hounslow, beating UKIP into fourth place with an 11.4% swing.

She got selected as a PPC For Feltham and Heston in GE2017 and ran an active campaign; online, digital and print media, and attended local hustings. The visibility and impact of Liberal Democrats presence was greatly noticed and appreciated by locals.

Hina rebranded Liberal Democrats diversity image in LE2018 by inspiring and supporting 52% candidates to stand from diverse background as well as herself standing in LE2018 representing Hounslow Heath Ward.

At present she is currently councillor candidate in an upcoming by election for Heston West Ward in her constituency and actively campaigning to address local issues with residents in that ward.

Hina is a people's person and find any opportunity to interact, engage and socialise with locals in Feltham and Heston.

As a dedicated campaigner, Hina was actively involved in Sarah Olney's victorious Richmond By-Election, Caroline Pidgeon's London Mayoral campaign and supported both Simon Hughes and Vince Cable successful campaigns in the 2015 & 2017 General Elections.

As your MP, Hina will work hard to promote and celebrate cultural diversity, equality and social justice within our local, national and international communities. She will continue to work with local communities in Hounslow to safeguard and protect everyone's Rights, stronger voice in the parliament on Environment and Climate Change and aim to build Feltham and Heston to be safe, harmonious and inclusive for ALL.
